Senior Database Administrator - QREP

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. 10 years of professional experience in QREP DB2 for administration and application support. Extensive experience administering and supporting databases as QREP DBA on Mainframe DB2 and LUW DB2. Experience supporting multiple DB2 subsystems simultaneously. Experience in Replication setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Experience supporting client and internal requests for building DB2 objects. Experience analyzing new DB2 versions for system improvements. Experience refreshing test data for entire environments. Experience supporting DB2 security requests and reviewing security for potential risks. Experience with reorganization of application data. Experience with vendor consultations for problems and questions. Experience with space calculations for new objects and environments. Experience reviewing and tuning internal DB2 buffer pools and SQL code. Experience with DR recovery of application objects. Experience solving issues related to MQ subscriptions, capture and apply process. Experience with DataStudio, CA, BMC, and IBM tools for DB2, MQ (preferred). Experience establishing policies and procedures pertaining to database management, DR, security, maintenance and utilization (preferred). Ability to support multiple clients after hours on-call. Self-motivated and able to work independently. Ability to multi-task and work under short deadlines and in high pressure situations. Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentations). Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently.

Administer QREP components including MQueues, Subscriptions, Publications, QMAPS, Capture and Apply processes. Develop and support new services and customization efforts. Collaborate with vendor personnel to resolve database replication problems. Fulfill client requests and change orders for Q Replication. Provide primary support for client QREP issues. Participate in 24x7 support across multiple time zones and on-call duties. Assist project managers in client migration technical hurdles. Execute tasks associated with client disaster recovery plans. Follow ITSM change control procedures.
