Senior Software Engineer - Knowledge Base, Serbia

7+ years of hands-on development experience with Java. Kotlin or strong interest in Kotlin is a plus. Experience building backend services and working with modern JVM-based systems. Familiarity with AWS cloud services and cloud-native application development. Experience with relational databases, NoSQL stores, and messaging systems (Kafka, SNS/SQS, etc.). Exposure to data pipelines, data ingestion, ETL/ELT, or data delivery systems is highly valued. Understanding of distributed systems fundamentals, service reliability, and performance considerations. Familiarity with AI/LLM-based systems interaction is a plus. Comfortable participating in design discussions. Strong debugging and problem-solving skills. Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset. Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Develop high-quality features and improvements in Java/Kotlin. Participate in design discussions and contribute to technical decisions. Translate requirements into designs and implementation steps. Contribute to proofs-of-concept and prototypes. Evaluate trade-offs for solutions (simplicity, cost, stability, performance). Collaborate with the team on work breakdown and estimations. Collaborate with other teams, product managers, and data teams. Recommend improvements to monitoring, metrics, performance, and reliability of cloud services. Engage actively in code reviews. Build scalable, resilient backend services within the cloud environment. Maintain and extend internal components for data flows. Work cross-functionally to ensure smooth integration. Keep up with industry trends and suggest improvements.
