Director of Data Science

Bachelor's degree in computer science or other engineering disciplines, or equivalent experience. 5+ years experience as a Software Engineer or Data Scientist in a professional full-time role. 8+ years experience leading a data analytics, data science or similar data team. 4+ years experience working with data scientists on AI / ML modeling. Experience with Cloud Native technology development and deployment. Experience building and scaling teams including leading recruiting initiatives. Understand and design for non-functional concerns such as performance, cost optimization, and maintainability. Great analytical and problem-solving skills with an eye for requirements analysis, debugging, and risk assessment. Knowledge of and experience implementing engineering principles and agile development procedures.

Work closely across data analytics, data science and product to deliver high impact functionality. Use business acumen to help prioritize product features and technology roadmap items. Create and maintain a technology roadmap. Mentor and guide other engineering leadership. Create and maintain an engaging and fun engineering and data culture. Coach and mentor analysts, data scientists and managers. Recruit and onboard new analysts, data scientists and managers. Improve delivery processes to increase accuracy, reliability, and velocity. Oversee technology vendor relationships and provide buy/build recommendations. Learn and apply knowledge about the drug discount space.
