Senior Backend Engineer, Automation Platform

8+ years of deep, hands-on experience in software engineering, with a strong emphasis on Python development in large-scale, production distributed systems. Exceptional proficiency with Python and its modern ecosystem. Hands-on experience designing, building, and maintaining automated systems using server-side, headless browser frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Puppeteer). Strong expertise in building and operating applications within large distributed systems architectures. Proven experience designing and building RESTful APIs. Intimate knowledge of and ability to implement unit, integration, and functional testing strategies. Experience providing technical leadership and guidance. Friendly communication skills and ability to work well in a diverse team setting. Demonstrated experience working with many cross-functional partners. Demonstrated experience leading a software product or component vision and delivery plan.

Design, develop, and implement scalable, fault-tolerant server-side automation services using Python and Playwright for headless browser workflows. Architect and build Python-based client wrappers and services that expose stable, versioned APIs for desktop clients. Lead architectural design for the custom automation platform, ensuring seamless integration of new services. Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging strategies for system transparency and efficient issue resolution. Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and other engineering teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
