Senior Software Engineer II, Publishing - React and Ruby on Rails

Deep expertise developing high-craft web applications with React, JavaScript, and modern CSS frameworks like Tailwind. Experience with Ruby on Rails (preferred) or other backend frameworks/languages with willingness to learn Ruby on Rails. Ability to architect well-designed, scalable, accessible, and maintainable systems. Solid understanding of frontend testing practices. Proven ability to partner effectively with Product and Design. Clear and concise communication skills. Experience acting as a frontend subject-matter expert. Experience building complex web components. Experience leading complex technical projects. Experience working across a legacy codebase and evolving it safely. Experience championing solutions with large positive impact. High agency and ability to work independently. Build Kit's core publishing platform and creator growth experiences. Architect end-to-end features from database to deployment. Partner with Product and Design to shape features. Lead and architect at least one major feature from idea to launch. Transform legacy codebase through strategic refactoring. Drive adoption of patterns and conventions. Participate in on-call rotations. Present at Lunch & Learn sessions. Mentor peers. Champion quality across the codebase.
