Consulting Psychiatrist

Licensed as an MD or DO. Licensed to practice medicine in MO, IN, and KY. Open to being cross-licensed in additional states. Preference for licensure in MI, IL, OH, PA, CO, NC, DE, or TX. Experience evaluating clinical appropriateness for short-term disability and completion of short-term disability paperwork. 3+ years experience working as an MD or DO. IOP, PHP, and/or IP experience is preferred. Commitment to delivery of high-quality, cost-effective health care. Ability to communicate and work proficiently with medical staff, patients, clinical support, and administrative staff. Proficiency in use of electronic health records and Google Suite/MS Office.

Review patient intake assessments/charts and conduct telehealth evaluations for work-function impairment and medical necessity for STD. Complete, certify, and sign Short-term disability forms accurately. Coordinate with clinicians and care coordinators to respond to clarifying requests from employer contacts/third-party adjudicators. Meet service-level timelines for STD paperwork submission. Maintain HIPAA and state/federal compliance and contribute to process improvement. Provide direct patient care and education for medication management, diagnostic evaluations, and medical assessments as needed. Work with support staff to ensure proper patient communication and follow up.
