Senior Software Engineer (Storybook)

5+ years of experience building for the web using JavaScript/TypeScript or other relevant languages Prior experience building or maintaining developer tools, frameworks, or libraries used by other developers Solid understanding of how modern web frameworks and build tools (e.g. Next.js, Vite) work Strong written and verbal communication skills in English Comfortable working asynchronously across a distributed team Comfortable engaging in open, constructive discussions Interest in learning how large open-source projects operate Genuine enthusiasm for making developers' lives easier

Contribute to the Storybook codebase as a core maintainer Design, develop, and refine Storybook APIs Drive implementation of Storybook features and growth experiments Collaborate in the open by triaging issues, reviewing pull requests, supporting contributors, and writing or reviewing RFCs Work with the DX team to create detailed documentation and help content Work with other engineering teams at Chromatic to ensure feature continuity Participate in the engineering team's support rotation Optionally, represent Storybook externally through conference talks, blog posts, or other channels
