Principal Electrical Engineer - Taiwan-based

Bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years of experience in electrical hardware development. Proven track record on developing consumer products from prototype to mass production. Hands-on experience designing boards with Application Processors from Qualcomm, MediaTek or NXP. Extensive experience designing high-speed boards involving MIPI D-PHY/C-PHY, USB 3.1 Gen 1 / Gen 2, Display Port, Sensors, PCIe Gen 3/4, RF (802.11 and Bluetooth), HDMI, Gigabit Ethernet, LPDDR 4x/5x, eMMC, UFS, I2S, I2C, and SPI. Ability to guide layout requirements and simulations with 3rd party vendors. Experience with audio/video devices including microphones, speakers, and CMOS imaging sensors. Design experience meeting compliance requirements such as EMC, ESD, Safety, RF and Environmental. Hands-on experience with Electrical Schematic Capture and Layout software such as Altium, OrCAD and Allegro. Experience creating and influencing system specification documents. Experience working with offshore OEM, ODM and JDM including manufacturing and assembly processes. Experience in a fast-paced engineering environment with real-time crisis management. Strong analytical skills using data-driven decisions. Strong cross-functional collaboration, written and verbal communication, and presentation skills. Ability to travel domestically and internationally if needed.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and guide system architecture and product definition. Analyze system trade-offs and propose solutions for product design. Own high-speed board-level electrical designs, including schematic capture, layout, power budgeting, signal integrity, and EMC. Collaborate on system validation, including thermal, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, acoustic, signal integrity, power integrity, and stress testing. Define and execute board-level hardware bring-up plans. Define manufacturing test plans at board and system levels and work with vendors on test fixtures. Collaborate with Mechanical and Optical teams on design integration. Work with Embedded Firmware and Application Software teams on hardware design reviews and debugging.
