Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in roles such as Legal Counsel or Regulatory Compliance.
  • Over 5 years of professional experience in regulated companies, with proven track record of acquiring and maintaining EU/UK EMI, bank or PI licenses.
  • Experience in enhancing compliance with regulatory obligations, preferably in organizations transitioning from startup to established enterprise levels.
  • Proficiency in technology and solid understanding of fintech-related software and systems, including blockchain, payment processing, cybersecurity, and anti-fraud measures.
  • Experience with opening international bank accounts and liaising with regulators.
  • Excellent communication skills for interaction with internal teams and regulatory bodies.
Responsibilities:
  • Drive and manage financial licensing processes in the EU and Great Britain.
  • Maintain and open correspondent accounts.
  • Handle complex legal requests and RFIs from banks and authorities.
  • Maintain relevant documentation and information.
  • Serve as the main liaison for local law firms, auditors, and regulators.
  • Stay updated on financial regulations including AML, KYC, and data protection laws.
  • Develop and implement corporate compliance and governance programs.
  • Update compliance programs as per regulatory requirements.
  • Manage regulatory reporting, AML audits, and company governance policies.
  • Lead the licensing process during regional expansions.
  • Enhance company policies according to regulatory standards across KYB, AML, Anti-Fraud and compliance functions.
  • Conduct audits with third-party vendors and financial partners.
  • Report regularly to the CEO regarding regulatory matters.
  • Lead crisis responses to maintain business continuity and minimize risks.
