- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university focusing on Accounting or Financial Accounting.
- Minimum of one year of practical general ledger accounting experience, preferably in public or corporate accounting.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
- Knowledge of U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (U.S. GAAP).
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, with intermediate knowledge of Excel required.
- Functional knowledge of general and corporate accounting processes and internal controls.
- Strong communication skills for explaining accounting issues.
- Attention to detail, strong planning and organization skills, and the ability to multi-task.
- Experience in process improvement activities.
- Ability to work extra hours as needed for financial close.
- Proficiency with Oracle Fusion preferred.
- Develops understanding of assigned areas, stakeholders, systems, accounting processes, and controls.
- Ensures proper flow of capital assets from inventory to capitalization of assets.
- Compiles and reviews journal entries in compliance with GAAP.
- Reconciles balance sheet accounts and resolves variances.
- Conducts period-end analysis and close activities for timely financial information.
- Fosters teamwork and communication across organizational boundaries.
- Supports internal and external audit activities, including SOX compliance.
- Completes special projects as requested by leadership.
