Requirements
- Have at least 5 years of relevant software engineering experience.
- Demonstrate experience delivering production-ready software solutions of varying complexity.
- Be proficient in at least one modern programming language, such as Java or Python.
- Have experience designing and implementing distributed systems and multi-tier architectures.
- Have practical experience with microservice architectures and exposure to high-throughput systems.
- Understand cloud engineering principles, including AWS, asynchronous systems, and service integration patterns.
- Be familiar with design patterns, system reliability, scalability principles, and software modernization approaches.
- Be able to contribute to system design and architectural decisions.
- Demonstrate ownership and commitment to quality in communication, code, and documentation.
- Communicate technical concepts to teammates and stakeholders.
- Have experience mentoring peers or junior developers.
- Be adaptable and willing to learn new technologies and work through ambiguous or unfamiliar problem domains.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deliver production-ready features that improve the reliability and performance of core software services.
- Enhance read and write paths supporting customer intake, application screening, and information dissemination.
- Identify system bottlenecks, architectural weaknesses, and business logic issues, and develop solutions.
- Own product and engineering challenges from problem identification through implementation, documentation, and performance measurement.
- Build and improve distributed, multi-tier system components, including storage, caching, and application layers.
- Contribute to microservice-based architectures and high-throughput systems.
- Participate in system design and architectural discussions, communicating technical decisions and trade-offs.
- Support system modernization and transformation initiatives, working across the technology stack to resolve problems.
- Mentor junior developers and promote sound engineering practices.
- Explore technologies, frameworks, AI tools, and automation approaches to improve engineering workflows and outcomes.
