Requirements
- Have 10+ years of hands-on SAP development experience.
- Bring strong classic and modern ABAP skills, including ABAP OO and ABAP for HANA.
- Have deep knowledge of OData v2 and v4 service design, SEGW, performance, and security.
- Know SAP extractors, including standard and generic DataSources, delta handling, ODP/ODQ, and CDS-based extraction.
- Have experience with RFC function modules, BAPIs, destinations, and tRFC/qRFC.
- Have working knowledge of SAP ECC and S/4HANA, including differences in data models and extraction options.
- Know SQL, query performance and tuning, SAP HANA, and relational database concepts.
- Understand SAP data models and key modules such as FI/CO, MM, and SD.
- Have experience with SAP authorizations and technical user and role setup for interfaces.
- Bring experience in code reviews, design, troubleshooting, and testing.
- Be able to use conversational AI systems to support SDLC research and authoring.
- Be fluent in English.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain ABAP function modules, classes, CDS views, and enhancements for outbound SAP data extraction.
- Own and modernize internal SAP test environments for current connectors and upcoming public cloud and BTP integrations.
- Architect outbound interfaces using OData, standard and generic DataSources, ODP/ODQ delta frameworks, and RFC connections.
- Diagnose and resolve extraction performance bottlenecks and delta synchronization issues across ECC and S/4HANA.
- Analyze SAP HANA and traditional database structures to improve efficiency and data pipeline performance.
- Partner with engineering, support, and customers to translate business requirements into technical architectures.
- Troubleshoot connectivity, authorization, and configuration challenges in customer SAP environments.
- Establish technical design standards, interface specifications, and best-practice documentation.
- Evaluate SAP technologies including SAP Datasphere and BTP.
