- Have 3+ years of software development experience.
- Have solid hands-on experience with Ruby.
- Have experience with Python.
- Understand dependency management, including Bundler/RubyGems and pip, and how version upgrades can introduce breaking changes.
- Have strong knowledge of Git and pull request workflows.
- Have experience with relational databases.
- Have experience writing unit and integration tests.
- Be able to work carefully in unfamiliar code in established systems and make small, well-tested changes.
- Be fluent in English with strong written communication, especially for tickets and pull requests.
- Be available to work US time zone hours in a fast-paced, agile team.
- Nice to have: experience with C#/.NET, security fundamentals, Snyk or similar tools, Docker, AWS, infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, or AI coding tools.
Responsibilities
- Review and triage findings from Snyk Open Source, Snyk Code, Snyk Container, and Snyk IaC, distinguishing reachable issues from false positives.
- Prioritize findings by severity, exploitability, and exposure against remediation SLAs, and route them through Jira.
- Fix vulnerabilities across Ruby, Python, and .NET applications, including dependencies, first-party code, container base images, and infrastructure as code.
- Test changes to confirm vulnerabilities are closed and add unit and integration tests where coverage is thin.
- Submit pull requests explaining findings, changes, and verification, and respond to review feedback.
- Write risk-accept or ignore recommendations with justification for approval by the owning team lead.
- Keep Snyk projects, Jira tickets, and remediation status up to date.
- Escalate findings requiring breaking upgrades, architectural changes, or cross-team coordination.
- Join stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives, and document recurring fixes.
