Job Details

Have 5+ years of experience building production backend systems.
Have deep comfort with Python, relational stores, and cloud infrastructure.
Have experience with GCP and Kubernetes.
Have built LLM-powered systems in production, such as an agent loop, tool-calling integration, RAG, or evaluation infrastructure.
Design for operability, including legal compliance, tracing, evaluations, and kill switches.
Be able to own a technical domain with light supervision, propose direction in writing with clear API specifications, incorporate review, and ship.
Be able to carry the pager for systems you ship.
Have strong written communication skills for design documents and PR reviews across team boundaries.
Nice to have: experience on the platform side of a platform/product relationship.
Nice to have: experience with SSE or streaming systems.
Nice to have: compliance-adjacent engineering experience, such as data minimization or auditability.
Nice to have: prior Staff-level scope.

Own and develop core syndi-api runtime surfaces, including the agent loop, tool execution and registry, memory, and context management.
Grow the evaluation system, including offline gates and online detector/judge evaluations written onto production traces.
Operate the platform in production, including observability, incident response, and agent-surface reliability.
Review product teams' tool wrappers and evaluations.
Evolve the GET /tools registry and its drift-detection contract.
Clarify, design, and implement compliance and legal requirements for Syndio.
Design and ship systems end-to-end, and take operational responsibility for what you ship.
