Requirements
- College degree required; Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or Statistics preferred.
- Enrolled Actuary designation required.
- At least ten years of practical actuarial and pension experience required.
- Proficiency in Proval valuation software required.
- Knowledge of post-retirement medical plans.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially working knowledge of Excel.
- Cash balance plan experience is a plus.
- FSA or ASA designation is a plus.
- Visual Basic and macros knowledge is a plus.
- Prior supervisory or management experience is a plus.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills for training, mentoring, delegating, and providing feedback.
- Time management skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
Responsibilities
- Code valuation software for new plans, plan amendments, life insurance, and assumption changes.
- Reconcile assets and life insurance, calculate contribution requirements, and prepare valuation reports.
- Prepare government filings, including Form 5500 and PBGC submissions.
- Prepare and review benefit calculations for qualified and non-qualified plans, including RMDs and QDROs.
- Analyze data and perform 410(b) minimum coverage, 401(a)(26) participation, and 401(a)(4) general tests.
- Prepare plan amendments and cost and funding projections.
- Assist with plan terminations in coordination with PBGC.
