Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in healthcare finance.
- Proven experience with national health plans/payors and payer contracting.
- Direct experience working within an MSO/PC healthcare model is required.
- Strong experience with financial forecasting, budgeting, financial modeling, and scenario analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to understand healthcare unit economics, reimbursement, and payer/provider economics.
- Experience with value-based care, risk arrangements, shared savings, or other alternative payment models.
- Experience supporting a healthcare company through growth, fundraising, market expansion, or organizational scaling.
- Experience working directly with CEOs and executive teams.
- Experience building finance functions and processes in an entrepreneurial or growth-stage environment.
- Able to work in a part-time/fractional capacity as a 1099 independent contractor.
- Available for occasional real-time calls; scheduling is otherwise flexible.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the executive team to develop and execute financial strategy and growth plans.
- Build financial models and analyses for strategic decisions, market opportunities, partnerships, and investments.
- Evaluate unit economics, profitability, contribution margins, and growth strategies.
- Establish financial KPIs and reporting frameworks for leadership.
- Analyze payer contracts, reimbursement structures, incentives, risk arrangements, and financial performance.
- Develop models to evaluate proposed payer agreements and inform negotiation strategy.
- Own financial forecasting and budgeting, including rolling forecasts across revenue, expenses, cash flow, and operating metrics.
- Partner with functional leaders on budgets and financial accountability; identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Provide financial leadership within the MSO/PC structure and understand its financial and operational relationship.
- Improve financial reporting, dashboards, processes, and controls as the organization scales.
