Requirements
- Have 7+ years of experience building scalable, data-driven backend systems and APIs.
- Have at least 2 years of experience in a technical leadership role, leading and mentoring engineering teams.
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in server-side programming with Node.js.
- Understand system design, data architecture, and microservices or modular monoliths.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs and integrate third-party services and external SDKs.
- Have experience with event-driven systems, asynchronous processing, and message queues such as Kafka, SNS/SQS, or RabbitMQ.
- Work with SQL and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis, including query optimization and complex data modeling.
- Have experience with cloud-native architecture using AWS or equivalent platforms.
- Apply SOLID and DRY principles in SaaS and multi-tenant application development.
- Have experience with Agile Scrum, collaboration and issue-tracking tools, and CI/CD, including GitHub and CI pipeline automation.
- Be able to triage and resolve incidents and lead incident investigations.
Responsibilities
- Lead development of fast, well-tested, performant code for web applications and help modernize the application stack.
- Collaborate with designers, product managers, and software engineers on website and application user experience, accessibility, and development feasibility.
- Design and implement solutions for presenting data and content across websites, mobile apps, and other platforms.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and developers on project design and implementation, maintaining standards and a reusable codebase.
- Contribute to engineering excellence, including automated unit testing.
- Debug software components and identify code defects for remediation.
- Assist in automating deployments to development and other environments.
- Triage and resolve incidents and lead incident investigations.
- Explain and whiteboard complex technical issues for audiences with varying levels of technical expertise.
