Requirements
- At least seven years of backend engineering experience in product-based organisations.
- Hands-on experience in a startup environment and current employment at a product-based organisation.
- Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and maintaining production services in Go.
- Strong practical experience designing PostgreSQL databases, developing and optimising queries, and diagnosing performance problems.
- Experience shipping a customer-facing product that uses LLMs to make judgements or support meaningful decisions, beyond prototypes or demonstrations.
- Ability to own a service, feature, or product capability from problem definition through implementation and ongoing production support.
- Ability to work through ambiguous requirements, evaluate alternative approaches, and deliver practical solutions with limited supervision.
- Regular use of AI-powered tools in software development, including coding, debugging, and testing.
- Experience working with users or customers and incorporating feedback into product decisions.
- Understanding of production operations, distributed systems, multi-tenant architectures, workflow reliability, and performance optimisation.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment and manage priorities effectively.
- A public GitHub profile, personal technical project, or technical blog is a strong advantage.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and improve customer-facing features in a multi-tenant backend using Go and PostgreSQL.
- Integrate CRM platforms, customer conversations, support systems, and other data sources into unified customer account views.
- Build and maintain AI-powered workflows, separating LLM tasks from deterministic application logic.
- Design workflows that can be rerun safely, and implement validation, error handling, observability, and quality checks.
- Design and maintain PostgreSQL schemas, optimise queries, and resolve database performance bottlenecks.
- Support services across AWS, Docker-based environments, enterprise infrastructure, and on-premise deployments.
- Own features and services from problem definition and solution evaluation through implementation, deployment, monitoring, and improvement.
- Work with users and product stakeholders to gather feedback and translate unclear requests into practical solutions.
- Use AI development tools to accelerate implementation while maintaining code quality, testing, and maintainability.
