Requirements
- Have at least 6 years of backend software engineering experience.
- Have substantial hands-on expertise in Rust.
- Know asynchronous programming, network services, distributed systems, RPC protocols, Kafka, and event-driven architectures.
- Have experience designing and operating production systems and evaluating architectural trade-offs.
- Have taken features from problem discovery through implementation, launch, and evaluation of user impact.
- Be able to connect engineering decisions to customer experience, product metrics, and business outcomes.
- Have demonstrated technical leadership through mentoring, design reviews, technical writing, or engineering standards.
- Have experience leading projects across teams or organizational boundaries and coordinating dependencies and delivery.
- Have meaningful experience using AI tools in software development, including code generation and validating implementations.
- Bring a proactive, collaborative approach and the ability to own end-to-end outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Own the design, development, and delivery of customer-facing Rust backend services supporting trading, payments, and cryptocurrency experiences.
- Make architectural decisions that prioritize scalability, reliability, and long-term maintainability.
- Lead complex initiatives from discovery through implementation, launch, and measurement.
- Collaborate across frontend and backend systems to ensure technical solutions address user needs.
- Partner with product leadership to define priorities, influence feature decisions, and evaluate trade-offs.
- Coordinate with trading infrastructure, platform engineering, and product teams to align technical work and manage dependencies.
- Mentor engineers through code and design reviews, technical documentation, and shared engineering standards.
- Integrate AI tools into development workflows and help establish effective AI-assisted engineering practices.
