Requirements
- Hold an active California license to practice as a therapist in good standing, such as LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or Licensed Psychologist.
- Have a master's or doctoral degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related clinical field.
- Have prior experience conducting clinical intake assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and/or level-of-care determinations.
- Bring direct experience working with serious mental illness populations, including psychotic spectrum and mood disorders.
- Have strong working knowledge of risk assessment and crisis safety planning.
- Be comfortable and effective delivering clinical assessments over video or telehealth.
- Be able to manage a full daily schedule of assessments while maintaining continuity.
- Communicate clearly and quickly with enrollment staff and Clinic Directors to coordinate hand-offs.
- Be technologically savvy and able to learn and navigate new tools quickly.
- Supervision hours are not available for this role.
Responsibilities
- Conduct virtual biopsychosocial assessments, mental status exams, and risk assessments for prospective members.
- Determine clinical fit for Amae's integrated serious mental illness care model and qualification for PHP or IOP programs.
- Provide referrals to a more appropriate level or type of care when a prospective member is not a fit.
- Develop diagnostic impressions and preliminary treatment recommendations for the receiving clinic's care team.
- Coordinate with Clinic Directors and care teams across California to support patient readiness and warm hand-offs.
- Answer questions from prospective members, families, and referring providers about programs, and screen inbound referrals.
- Maintain accurate, timely intake documentation and coordinate with utilization review and insurance authorization.
- Provide occasional individual or group therapy coverage across California clinics during lower-intake periods.
