Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or another business field.
- 3-5 years’ experience.
- Proficiency in Excel and Word.
- ERP experience.
- Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Ability to review and interpret general ledger accounts and financial statements.
- Ability to work Eastern Standard Time.
- MBA or MA in Accounting, CMA, or CPA preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform month-end close processes, including recording journal entries and conducting variance analysis.
- Review general ledger accounts, investigate discrepancies, and reconcile differences.
- Collaborate with accounting and cross-functional teams on accruals, reserves, prepaid positions, fixed assets, and right-of-use assets.
- Conduct monthly reconciliations for inventory, freight, bad debt, rebates, and taxes.
- Prepare schedules and information for internal and external audits.
- Prepare intercompany reconciliations, cross charges, and elimination entries.
- Run the trial balance and analyze general ledger accounts for accuracy and completeness during close.
- Support cash management by working with the bank and assisting with cash position forecasts.
- Manage sales tax certificates in SOVOS and reconcile tax accounts.
- Account for fixed asset acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation, and document accounting policies and processes.
