Requirements
- Have 2+ years of healthcare payment posting or revenue cycle experience; this experience is preferred.
- Have experience with Raintree EMR; this experience is strongly preferred.
- Have working knowledge of insurance payments, ERA/EFT processing, contractual adjustments, and cash reconciliation.
- Be familiar with insurance Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), payer portals, and electronic remittances.
- Be able to research and resolve payment discrepancies with strong attention to detail.
- Be proficient with Microsoft Excel and healthcare billing systems.
- Have organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Be able to manage daily workloads, meet deadlines, and work independently in a remote environment.
- Be available for a Monday–Friday schedule during standard business hours.
Responsibilities
- Post insurance and patient payments, including electronic and manual payments.
- Process ERA, EFT, and lockbox payments.
- Review and post contractual adjustments, denials, refunds, and write-offs according to established procedures.
- Reconcile daily payment batches against deposits and remittance information.
- Identify and resolve posting discrepancies, unapplied payments, and payment variances.
- Research payment issues using payer portals, clearinghouses, and internal systems.
- Collaborate with Billing, Accounts Receivable, and Finance teams to resolve payment-related issues.
- Maintain accurate payment records and meet productivity and quality standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve payment posting workflows and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, payer requirements, and company policies.
