Requirements

  • Bring 7 to 12 years of experience in investment banking, private credit, private equity, venture, or a senior commercial role in venture and private equity.
  • Demonstrate a record of originating business rather than servicing it.
  • Have an active network in venture and private equity.
  • Understand fund and portfolio-company financial flows, including capital calls, distributions, portfolio treasury and credit, and operating-partner priorities.
  • Be able to structure partnerships, negotiate referral economics, and work through a term sheet independently.
  • Build financial models independently and have banker-level Excel skills.
  • Understand the unit economics of deposits, cards, and credit.
  • Prepare a one-page coverage pitch with a sector map, proposed partnerships, sector economics, and an execution plan.

Responsibilities

  • Build and run Flex’s venture and private equity business.
  • Set the strategy for winning the sector and own its P&L.
  • Develop relationships with general partners, fund CFOs, operating partners, fund administrators, and fund-finance lenders.
  • Structure partnerships and negotiate referral economics.
  • Define the product priorities needed to win venture and private equity customers.
  • Work alongside product, credit, risk, and member experience teams.
  • Develop a sector plan covering owners, banking needs, partnerships, investment, and returns.
  • Build a team and determine what is needed to execute the sector plan.
