Requirements
- Have 8-10 years of legal experience focused on one or more relevant legal areas.
- Hold a Juris Doctorate from an ABA-approved law school.
- Be an active member of the Bar.
- Have in-depth knowledge of areas such as compliance, intellectual property, data privacy, legal operations, corporate governance, litigation management, or commercial contracts.
- Have a track record of applying legal expertise in a technology or nonprofit environment.
- Be able to translate complex legal concepts into actionable business advice.
- Demonstrate solution-oriented problem solving and risk management.
- Communicate in a way that is tailored to different audiences and supports collaboration.
- Be proficient with digital tools for virtual collaboration, productivity, and responsible data handling.
- Show attention to quality and adaptability as tasks and priorities change.
- Be willing to travel to attend the twice-annual Common App Retreat.
- Additional certifications in relevant subject areas are desirable.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic legal support and advice to help drive organizational objectives.
- Manage legal risk and ensure compliance across key operational areas.
- Provide independent legal advice on product and service offerings.
- Support deal structuring and draft and negotiate complex agreements.
- Provide day-to-day counsel to business stakeholders.
- Stay current on legal trends to support organizational growth and innovation.
