Requirements
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Admission to, and good standing with, a state bar.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience advising clients on employment and labor-related matters in-house or at a nationally recognized law firm.
- Knowledge of employment laws including Title VII, ADA, FMLA, EEO, wage and hour, and immigration laws.
- Strong business acumen with a pragmatic approach to balancing legal risk.
- Demonstrated negotiation skills and ability to support difficult positions.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal and strategic advice on global employment matters including employee relations, terminations, compliance, background screenings, benefits, immigration, recruiting, and compensation.
- Assist in managing employment-related disputes, complaints, litigation, and investigations.
- Draft, negotiate, and review employment related agreements, addenda, and amendments.
- Partner with the People team in the development of company-wide people policies.
- Advise on the use of AI technology in employee relations, recruiting/hiring, and other employment processes.
- Remain informed of the shifting legal landscape of global employment laws, regulations, and industry guidance.
- Help create and enhance playbooks to establish company parameters to scale the legal function.
- Work effectively in a dynamic environment across different functional groups and time zones.
