Job Details

Have education or training in quantity surveying, construction, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in material take-offs.
Be able to read construction and shop drawings.
Understand how individual components form a complete construction or fabrication system.
Be able to manage several take-offs and identify missing or inconsistent information.
Have clear written and spoken English.
Be able to raise queries promptly and seek clarification when information is incomplete.
Be able to communicate with the Business Owner, Project Manager, factory, and installation teams.
Have strong Excel capability.
Have experience with digital measurement software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, CostX, or equivalent.

Review plans, specifications, fence schedules, and approved shop drawings; verify scales, dimensions, levels, finishes, and revisions.
Measure fence lengths by type and location, identify height changes, corners, slopes, and stepped sections, and separate gate openings.
Calculate required components for fencing and gate systems.
Quantify posts, panels, rails, mesh, wire, fixings, gate hardware, automation components, concrete, footings, and accessories.
Create itemised Excel schedules grouped by fence type, gate, location, or supplier category.
Record drawing references, descriptions, dimensions, specifications, units, net quantities, allowances, and totals.
Provide marked-up drawings to support each schedule and identify unresolved items.
Maintain a query register, update quantities when drawings change, and keep schedules traceable to the correct revision.
