Requirements

  • Have a bachelor’s degree in Business Management or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Have at least 6 years of experience in business operations, including substantial exposure to optometric practices and the eye care industry.
  • Understand optometric practice operations, including practice management, staffing, optical business processes, and financial performance.
  • Be able to assess business performance, interpret profit and loss statements, analyze key performance indicators, and identify improvement and profitability opportunities.
  • Demonstrate analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills, including evaluating business risks and opportunities and developing data-driven recommendations.
  • Have business acumen and experience supporting strategic planning, defining improvement opportunities, and measuring outcomes.
  • Have verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills for facilitating discussions, delivering training, and communicating findings.
  • Be able to build collaborative relationships, motivate stakeholders, influence decisions, and drive results without direct authority.
  • Have organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple business needs and deliver timely recommendations.
  • Be comfortable working remotely and participating in virtual meetings, including maintaining camera presence when required.

Responsibilities

  • Assess member businesses and optometric practices by reviewing profit and loss statements and identifying performance gaps and growth opportunities.
  • Analyze financial and operational metrics to identify trends and inefficiencies.
  • Provide guidance on practice management, optical operations, staffing, marketing, and revenue cycle management.
  • Prepare dashboards, reports, and performance summaries comparing practices with industry benchmarks.
  • Develop recommendations to improve workflows, reduce costs, optimize resources, and increase revenue.
  • Coordinate referrals and support with specialized advisors and internal teams.
  • Serve as a primary contact for businesses seeking operational guidance and provide relevant resources and feedback.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions, webinars, and educational content on business management and operational improvement.
  • Research emerging business needs and recurring challenges and recommend service improvements.
