Requirements

  • Have a strong understanding of Release of Information processes, authorization requirements, and protected health information.
  • Know HIPAA, state-specific disclosure laws, healthcare privacy requirements, and medical-record release compliance standards.
  • Bring experience supporting or managing ROI operations, health information management, medical records processing, healthcare compliance, or related operational functions.
  • A relevant background in health information management is preferred.
  • RHIA or RHIT certification is an advantage.
  • Be able to interpret performance data, identify trends, investigate issues, and recommend practical improvements.
  • Have written and verbal communication skills to explain ROI procedures and compliance requirements and collaborate with teams and client leadership.
  • Be able to manage competing priorities, monitor multiple workflows, and meet operational deadlines.
  • Maintain attention to detail and a focus on protecting confidential information, accurate records, and established procedures.
  • Work effectively with healthcare stakeholders, internal teams, and external vendors while adapting to changing operational and regulatory needs.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily ROI activities across assigned healthcare facilities, including workflows, document processing, quality monitoring, and productivity.
  • Ensure disclosures of protected health information comply with HIPAA, state disclosure laws, authorization requirements, client policies, and organizational standards.
  • Analyze performance data, track productivity and quality indicators, prepare reports, and identify operational trends.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflow efficiency, standardize procedures, and strengthen quality assurance.
  • Advise internal stakeholders and client leadership on ROI procedures, compliance questions, operational challenges, audits, and workflow enhancements.
  • Investigate operational concerns and coordinate resolution of complex cases, compliance risks, and service delivery issues.
  • Monitor vendor performance when applicable and ensure providers meet operational, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and consistent implementation of policies and procedures.
