Requirements

  • Have 7–10 years of post-qualification legal experience.
  • Be admitted and in good standing in at least one US jurisdiction.
  • Bring demonstrated experience leading complex, high-value, or strategically important commercial transactions with sophisticated counterparties.
  • Have strong technology transactions experience and understand how technology and infrastructure models affect contracts.
  • Have experience working directly with C-suite executives and senior business leaders.
  • Demonstrate commercial judgment, including the ability to assess business risk pragmatically.
  • Bring strong negotiation and bespoke commercial drafting skills.
  • Provide practical, commercial advice in plain English.
  • Be able to independently assess ambiguous problems and drive them to an outcome.
  • Manage several significant matters across jurisdictions and time zones.
  • Bring integrity, discretion, and professional judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Support complex and strategic data centre procurement and customer transactions from negotiation through execution.
  • Partner with the Chief Legal Officer, executive leadership, and senior stakeholders on high-priority legal matters, primarily for the compute division.
  • Advise on the legal and commercial structure of partnerships involving cloud, networking, data centres, infrastructure, compute, storage, software, and other technology services.
  • Lead negotiations with global technology companies, cloud and infrastructure providers, strategic partners, enterprise customers, and suppliers.
  • Advise on technology, data, privacy, intellectual property, cybersecurity, and regulatory issues arising from strategic transactions.
  • Support special projects and strategic initiatives with the CLO and legal team leaders.
  • Act as a senior member of the Legal team and a sounding board for colleagues handling complex commercial issues.
  • Support the broader global legal team during busy periods.
  • Identify ways to simplify work and improve contracting approaches while enabling business execution.
