Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end systems design for key scanning engine components, from design through implementation, deployment, and iteration.
  • Design and implement maintainable, well-tested, observable services in Python and Go.
  • Improve scanning engine performance, scalability, and reliability for large-scale distributed workloads and strict SLAs.
  • Translate detection and scanning requirements into production-ready systems and APIs with security, product, and data teams.
  • Drive code review rigor, design documentation, and secure coding practices.
  • Contribute to scanning platform architecture and roadmap decisions, evaluating tradeoffs and proposing solutions.
  • Diagnose and resolve production issues involving scanning performance, accuracy, and stability, collaborating with SRE and infrastructure teams as needed.
  • Mentor engineers through design feedback, pairing, and knowledge sharing.
