Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Geology, GIS, Geomatics, Earth Sciences, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in geological data management, GIS, mineral exploration, mining, or a related technical environment.
- Practical experience managing geological databases and GIS applications within mining or mineral exploration.
- Strong understanding of drilling, sampling, assay, geological, and spatial datasets.
- Experience with geological data QA/QC, validation, documentation, and data governance.
- Familiarity with NI 43-101 technical reporting requirements and Canadian mineral exploration standards.
- Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro and/or QGIS, including spatial analysis, visualization, and professional map production.
- Experience with geological database platforms such as acQuire, MX Deposit, or comparable systems.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, including working with large and complex datasets.
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases is an asset.
- Experience supporting resource evaluation, technical studies, project reviews, or due diligence is an advantage.
- Willingness to periodically travel to project sites in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Lead geological database and GIS management across exploration and development projects.
- Maintain drilling, sampling, assay, survey, geological, and spatial datasets.
- Develop and improve geological data workflows, standards, documentation, metadata, governance, version control, backup, and validation processes.
- Implement geological data QA/QC procedures aligned with NI 43-101 requirements and industry best practices.
- Provide geological and spatial data for technical reporting, resource evaluation, project studies, due diligence, and development initiatives.
- Perform GIS analysis and compile, integrate, visualize, and interpret geological and spatial information.
- Prepare maps, figures, presentations, and technical data packages for internal and external stakeholders.
- Integrate historical and newly acquired exploration data into geological databases and GIS platforms.
- Collaborate with technical professionals across projects and jurisdictions, and identify improvements to data quality, systems, reporting, and workflows.
