Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • At least five years of experience in electrical engineering, power solutions, electrical design, energy infrastructure, or project management within mission-critical or similar environments.
  • Knowledge of mission-critical electrical systems and components, including switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems, distribution equipment, substations, and controls.
  • Familiarity with energy storage systems, microgrids, inverter-based resources, utility interconnections, medium- and high-voltage systems, and power delivery infrastructure.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary electrical projects with engineering teams, clients, contractors, vendors, utilities, or other external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, industry standards, and safety requirements, including NEC, NFPA, NESC, and relevant IEEE standards.
  • General understanding of protection and control, grounding, equipment integration, system reliability, commissioning, energization, and mission-critical facility redundancy and uptime requirements.
  • Understanding of project scope, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, quality assurance, contracts, resource allocation, and financial performance monitoring.
  • Ability to prepare project budgets, forecast costs, monitor profitability, develop fee estimates, assess financial risks, and manage project changes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams; working knowledge of SharePoint and project or construction management platforms such as Procore.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for workflow automation, digital project controls, analytics, and AI-enabled tools while respecting data security and operational requirements.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences, coordinate teams, delegate responsibilities, and manage client relationships.
  • Ability to work with remote and on-site colleagues, travel to client and project locations when needed, and comply with company and site safety requirements; approximately 10% travel.

Responsibilities

  • Lead power solutions projects through kickoff, design development, procurement support, construction coordination, commissioning, energization, and closeout.
  • Coordinate electrical distribution, medium- and high-voltage systems, substations, generation, energy storage, microgrids, inverter-based resources, backup power, and control systems.
  • Define project scopes, deliverables, technical assumptions, execution plans, schedules, budgets, and resource requirements with engineering teams and project leadership.
  • Coordinate subconsultants, vendors, and external partners; define scopes of work, review proposals, evaluate bids, monitor performance, and review deliverables.
  • Serve as a point of contact for clients, utilities, contractors, commissioning teams, engineering disciplines, and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate quality reviews and help resolve design, field, construction, and commissioning issues while ensuring deliverables meet applicable codes, safety requirements, and standards.
  • Prepare, forecast, and monitor project budgets, profitability, margins, bill rates, utilization, and financial performance; address financial risks and cost or schedule deviations.
  • Manage scope changes, communicate additional fee requirements, develop cost schedules and schedules of value for progress billing, and monitor vendor and subcontractor commitments.
  • Lead technical proposals, fee estimates, scopes of work, assumptions, resource plans, and pricing; support project pursuits and existing client relationships.
  • Maintain project records, review and distribute daily reports, manage project contracts and work hours, and complete departmental reporting.
