Requirements

  • Have 5–7+ years of hands-on payroll experience, including at least 3 years processing payroll through UKG Pro (UltiPro).
  • Demonstrate experience processing multi-state US payroll and Canadian payroll.
  • Have experience coordinating or supporting international payroll through third-party providers.
  • Have experience in a growing, multi-country organization with 700+ employees.
  • Be able to run payroll independently and troubleshoot unexpected issues during payroll cycles.
  • Have experience documenting payroll processes and improving or restructuring payroll configurations and workflows.
  • Understand payroll taxation, compliance requirements, internal controls, and payroll best practices.
  • Have strong Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Bring exceptional attention to detail and the ability to meet recurring, time-sensitive deadlines.
  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Process accurate and timely multi-state US and Canadian payrolls, including bi-weekly payrolls, off-cycle payments, and manual checks.
  • Manage UKG Pro (UltiPro) and Workforce Management Dimensions configuration, troubleshooting, and system-support coordination.
  • Review and optimize UKG workflows, replacing manual workarounds with controlled, scalable processes.
  • Create and maintain payroll procedures and documentation.
  • Coordinate with international payroll providers and reconcile payroll inputs and outputs for employees in the UK, Australia, Germany, and India.
  • Reconcile payroll activity to the general ledger and support audits, compliance reviews, and information requests.
  • Maintain payroll controls for approvals, system access, segregation of duties, and other key requirements.
  • Process employee changes and maintain accurate data flow between HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Manage state tax registrations and payroll tax filings, and maintain accurate employee tax profiles.
  • Partner with Benefits, HR Business Partners, Accounting, and HRIS on payroll activities, system optimization, training, and team coverage.
