Requirements
- Hold an undergraduate or graduate degree in Chemistry or a related field.
- Have in-depth knowledge of the capital equipment sales cycle.
- Have a working understanding of inorganic AA, ICP, and ICP/MS products.
- Have 3-5 years of direct sales experience selling analytical instrumentation or laboratory experience related to the products being sold.
- Be able to travel 50% of the time, including overnight travel.
- Be located within the Southern California sales territory.
- Preferred: Thoroughly understand account profitability, competitive status, and laboratory operations.
- Preferred: Have experience with analytical laboratory software and instruments.
- Preferred: Have experience working in a laboratory using inorganic instrumentation.
Responsibilities
- Execute a sales plan aligned with regional and company objectives to grow sales volume, market share, and profitability.
- Manage current customer accounts and identify new targeted accounts.
- Develop a plan for each inorganic product line and ensure each line is represented.
- Manage time and territory plans, present business and technical information, and identify customer needs and trends.
- Promote support services and provide information about techniques and products; follow up on customer inquiries.
- Maintain customer information in approved tools, update the opportunity funnel and weekly forecasts, and manage the funnel to support forecasting accuracy and growth targets.
- Recommend customer solutions using knowledge of competitive offerings and market dynamics.
- Work with regional sales, service, product specialist, and business teams, and support planned customer events.
