Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant international accounting experience.
- Active CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification, such as ACCA or ACA.
- Public accounting experience required; Big Four or large regional firm experience preferred.
- Strong experience with international statutory reporting, local audits, and month-, quarter-, and year-end close.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, local GAAP, intercompany accounting, and foreign currency accounting.
- Experience managing accounting professionals and working with third-party accounting providers.
- Ability to manage multiple entities, jurisdictions, deadlines, and stakeholders.
- Experience within a global technology, software, SaaS, or high-growth organization is an asset.
- Experience supporting an international subsidiary structure across EMEA, APAC, and/or LATAM is an asset.
- Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems is an asset.
- Experience with accounting automation, finance transformation, and outsourced accounting models is an asset.
Responsibilities
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities across international entities.
- Review journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, intercompany activity, and foreign currency accounting.
- Lead statutory financial reporting and local audits with external auditors and local accounting providers.
- Oversee reconciliation and conversion of local GAAP reporting to US GAAP.
- Manage third-party accounting providers and hold them accountable for quality, accuracy, and deadlines.
- Lead, coach, and develop international accounting team members, serving as an escalation point for complex accounting matters.
- Strengthen and standardize accounting processes, internal controls, close procedures, and reporting.
- Identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, and scalability.
- Partner with Corporate Accounting, Tax, Treasury, FP&A, Payroll, Legal, HR, and other teams on international accounting matters.
- Support international expansion, acquisitions, new entity formation, and other global finance initiatives.
