Requirements
- Have approximately 8+ years of relevant, client-facing accounting experience in public accounting, corporate accounting, or a comparable environment.
- Have at least 2 years of experience managing, coaching, or developing an accounting team.
- Hold a bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting.
- Bring strong technical accounting expertise and the ability to establish financial controls and scale accounting operations.
- Have significant experience with general ledger platforms such as QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, or Sage Intacct.
- Be familiar with finance and accounting platforms such as Bill, Ramp, Stripe, Gusto, Rippling, Cin7, and Brex.
- Communicate accounting concepts clearly to executives, clients, and non-financial stakeholders.
- Be organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrate a client-service orientation and ability to build relationships with senior leaders.
- CPA or MBA is preferred but not required.
- Web3/Crypto and/or Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) accounting experience is a strong plus.
Responsibilities
- Own client relationships as the primary contact and provide guidance on accounting, managerial accounting, and broader financial activities.
- Manage, coach, and mentor Staff and Senior Accountants, reviewing their work and providing feedback.
- Oversee the end-to-end monthly close, financial statement preparation, and day-to-day transactional accounting.
- Establish financial controls and scalable accounting processes for startup clients.
- Lead and coordinate external audits, due diligence activities, and technical accounting research.
- Deliver timely financial reporting to clients and executive teams.
- Analyze financial metrics, trends, and variances, and communicate business insights to clients.
- Collaborate with internal Finance and Tax teams to address client needs.
