Job Details

Have professional application development experience with Java, including practical experience with Java 6, 8, and 11.
Have experience developing and evolving Java applications within monolithic architectures.
Have experience working with established, complex codebases.
Have strong experience with Spring for building and maintaining APIs.
Have hands-on experience with unit and integration testing using JUnit.
Know software engineering best practices, including Clean Code, SOLID principles, sound design practices, and systematic refactoring.
Be able to read, analyze, understand, and safely refactor complex existing code.
Have knowledge of or practical experience with frontend development using React.
Have problem-solving skills and technical autonomy, and collaborate with engineering and product teams.
Be comfortable participating in pair programming and code reviews and providing constructive technical feedback.
Have an interest in artificial intelligence technologies, including AI tools, applications, and fundamental concepts.
Familiarity with Spec Driven Development (SDD) is an advantage.

Evolve established Java systems through refactoring, architectural improvements, and delivery of new product features.
Perform evolutionary and corrective maintenance while improving code quality, readability, maintainability, and system health.
Develop and maintain backend APIs using Java and Spring within established application architectures.
Define technical solutions with engineering and product teams and contribute to architectural and implementation decisions.
Own delivery quality across implementation, automated testing, code review, and solution validation.
Analyze complex codebases, identify improvement opportunities, and refactor while minimizing risks to existing functionality.
Apply pair programming, code reviews, continuous refactoring, and continuous improvement practices.
Use AI-powered tools and resources to support software development and explore approaches to engineering challenges.
Apply understanding of business-domain requirements, particularly financial rules and processes, to technical solutions.
Support other developers in their technical development.
