Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing accounting or finance teams.
  • Strong experience with financial reporting, external audits, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience overseeing U.S. tax compliance and working with external tax advisors.
  • Advanced knowledge of U.S. GAAP and a strong understanding of internal controls and audit requirements.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Experience with ERP systems; Vista by Viewpoint is preferred.
  • Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills.
  • CPA designation strongly preferred; a master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is a plus.
  • Experience in a multi-entity or complex business environment is preferred; public accounting experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Drive month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies.
  • Maintain general ledger activities, account reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Analyze financial results and provide commentary on variances, trends, and key performance indicators.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning.
  • Coordinate financial statement audits and reviews, manage auditor requests, and address audit findings and control deficiencies.
  • Monitor financial reporting and regulatory requirements, maintain statutory records, and coordinate regulatory filings.
  • Oversee U.S. federal, state, and local tax compliance, filings, tax accounting, and support for tax audits.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor accounting and finance team members, and build out the U.S. team.
  • Partner with business leaders and the Canadian Financial Controller, and drive finance process improvements and automation.
