Requirements
- At least 8 years of outside sales experience in heavy trucks, construction, vocational vehicles, or closely related industries.
- Proven success selling premium, high-value construction products or services.
- Direct Heavy Truck OEM or dealer territory sales experience is strongly preferred.
- Deep knowledge of trucks and vocational applications, including customer operations and business needs.
- Business development and relationship-building experience with diverse stakeholders and large commercial accounts.
- Ability to research customer businesses, assess market data, identify opportunities, and use insights to guide sales decisions.
- Strong verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to plan calls, manage a territory, prioritize opportunities, and coordinate extensive travel independently.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and CRM platforms.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, solve problems independently, and remain effective in an agile environment.
- Collaborative ability to work with customers, sales colleagues, engineering, product teams, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to travel extensively and live within a reasonable distance of a commercial airport.
- Candidates should be able to cover territories in California, Florida, Texas, or the Mid-West.
- A bachelor's degree is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage strategic relationships with major construction-sector accounts, particularly large fleet customers.
- Build and execute territory-specific sales strategies to increase revenue, market share, and profitable growth.
- Prospect for new accounts and opportunities using market data, customer insights, and industry knowledge.
- Own the sales process from customer discovery and needs assessment through solution development, presentation, negotiation, and closing.
- Engage end users, fleet managers, and decision-makers to understand operations and recommend solutions for vocational truck applications.
- Develop customer presentations and sales approaches informed by market knowledge and customer value drivers.
- Monitor construction, vocational truck, and competitive market trends to identify opportunities and anticipate customer needs.
- Partner with engineering, product, and cross-functional teams to communicate customer feedback and align solutions with fleet requirements.
- Maintain territory plans, account activity, customer follow-up, and CRM usage while managing travel and sales schedules.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, customer engagement, and commercial outcomes.
