Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree; an advanced degree or MBA is a plus.
- At least 5 years of sales or business development experience in life sciences, biotech, medical devices, diagnostic equipment, or pharmaceuticals.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Previous success introducing novel products or services to physicians and hospitals that changed clinical practice.
- Existing relationships across hospitals and health systems, including microbiology labs, send-out labs, physician groups, C-level executives, and clinical administrators.
- Demonstrated track record of top sales achievement and meeting or exceeding sales objectives.
- Experience with multi-level account management.
- Strong territory planning, business acumen, analytical aptitude, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build credibility and relationships with executives, physicians, and lab directors.
- Strong presentation and negotiation skills, including facilitating discussions with small and large groups.
Responsibilities
- Grow sales revenue and test volume by establishing business in hospitals and increasing volume in existing accounts.
- Collaborate with Inside Sales, Customer Success, Medical Affairs, and Marketing to achieve territory and company goals.
- Build, manage, and nurture hospital and health system accounts, prioritizing and segmenting them to maximize opportunity and growth.
- Present product features and benefits to clinical stakeholders, qualify leads, assess needs, support evaluations, and close sales.
- Manage early evaluations to activate adoption of the Karius test and increase utilization over time.
- Explain the science, technology, and value of the Karius test to clinicians and differentiate it from competitors.
- Build relationships and consensus across prospective and existing partner stakeholders, and demonstrate return on investment.
- Secure and renew partner contracts and agreements.
- Partner with Clinical and Medical Affairs, Customer Success, and Marketing to support account interactions, onboarding, regional meetings, and follow-up.
- Document sales activity and complete administrative duties, including Salesforce documentation and expense reporting.
