Requirements

  • Bring 10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Have at least 1 year of leadership experience in public accounting, outsourced/fractional accounting, or a client-service firm.
  • Have managed a production team of 10+ accounting professionals, directly or through managers, with accountability for team results.
  • Have experience coaching and developing managers, including performance reviews, development plans, and addressing underperformance.
  • Demonstrate ownership of division or department financial performance, including P&L, revenue per FTE, utilization, or realization.
  • Have a background in capacity planning and workload balancing across teams or client portfolios.
  • Have experience serving as an escalation point for client relationships; startup or high-growth client experience is preferred.
  • Be able to set and enforce KPIs using systems-of-record data.
  • Bring hands-on comfort using AI tools in accounting and operational work, with sound judgment about human review and client data protection.
  • Be able to lead change and drive adoption of tools, systems, and processes.
  • A CPA license is a bonus.
  • Project management experience and working knowledge of workflow management, time-tracking, or client-intelligence tools such as Knownwell are bonuses.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Division Managers, the Project Team, and the ERP Specialist.
  • Coach Division Managers through regular 1:1s, performance conversations, and development planning.
  • Delegate division ownership and hold managers accountable for agreed KPIs and commitments.
  • Own aggregate division performance, including revenue per FTE, utilization, realization, and growth metrics.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager on capacity planning, workload balancing, and resourcing decisions.
  • Ensure client commitments are delivered on time and to standard, and guide managers through complex or at-risk engagements.
  • Drive the shift from report delivery to proactive advisory and help managers identify cross-sell and service-expansion opportunities.
  • Lead AI adoption across the production organization through training, use-case rollout, and adoption tracking.
  • Coordinate priorities and projects with the Director of Technical Accounting.
  • Represent production needs, constraints, and resourcing decisions to the Sr. Director & Head of BKA.
