Requirements
- Have 10+ years of project management or equivalent job experience.
- Have 5+ years of external client-facing experience in consulting, professional services, technology, compliance, or a related environment.
- Have 5+ years of experience leading project managers, project management teams, or cross-functional delivery organizations, with success as a player-coach.
- Have 3+ years of experience adapting technology automation into process improvement strategies.
- Demonstrate thought leadership in integrating process improvement strategies.
- Be able to lead client and project escalations and ongoing risk management proactively.
- Understand project and practice management best practices and have led cross-functional project teams through the full project lifecycle.
- Have executive-level communication experience, along with strong presentation and organizational skills.
- Understand the essential business practices of a project management team within a professional consulting organization.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.
- PMP or Certified Scrum Master certification is strongly preferred.
- Experience with AI automation, large and complex IT projects, cloud platforms, compliance, Agile delivery, PMO processes, Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, or resource management is a bonus; Lean Six Sigma, ITIL, CISM, Security+, AWS, or GCP certifications are also preferred.
Responsibilities
- Manage the assigned team of project managers, including performance reviews, regular 1:1 meetings, mentoring, coaching, and tracking team growth needs.
- Collaborate with Delivery Operations/Project Management Leadership to develop and update project management procedures and standardize advisory delivery, reporting, and optimization.
- Use technology and automation to optimize workflows and improve operational efficiency.
- Create or update training materials and coach project managers to support consistent project management and delivery.
- Work with leadership to achieve delivery utilization targets and other key performance metrics.
- Escalate client and project issues, lead risk reporting, identify high-risk clients, and support risk mitigation.
- Coordinate with quality management, sales, and delivery teams to support the customer experience.
- Execute project management work and oversee assigned team performance on client engagements.
- Coordinate schedules, tasks, client communication, resources, and project status meetings throughout the engagement.
- Create and revise project work plans, communicate project resource needs, and work directly with clients across organizational levels.
