Requirements

  • Bring 10+ years of professional product design experience.
  • Have a portfolio demonstrating significant ownership and impact on shipped software products.
  • Bring 5+ years of experience designing complex enterprise SaaS products or similarly sophisticated systems and workflows.
  • Demonstrate a track record of leading design for a substantial product area from early discovery through shipped outcomes.
  • Show strong product judgment across customer needs, product strategy, interaction design, systems thinking, and detailed execution.
  • Have deep experience with qualitative and quantitative research and translating customer insights into product decisions.
  • Have experience partnering with Product and Engineering leaders and influencing decisions without formal authority.
  • Bring strong interaction and visual design skills and a high bar for product craftsmanship.
  • Communicate complex design decisions clearly to customers, peers, and senior leadership.
  • Be comfortable working in a fast-moving environment with ambiguity.
  • Experience in public safety, law enforcement, fire, EMS, or other mission-critical software is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Set design direction for a critical product area and identify important customer and product problems to solve.
  • Lead complex initiatives from discovery through delivery, conducting research, synthesizing insights, and exploring design approaches.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to define problems, make product tradeoffs, and deliver product experiences.
  • Work directly with first responders and public safety agencies to understand high-stakes workflows and translate insights into usable experiences.
  • Design experiences across dispatch workstations, in-vehicle laptops, tablets, and mobile applications.
  • Contribute to design systems and patterns, provide critique, and help other designers navigate challenging problems.
  • Present product visions and design recommendations to customers and senior leaders.
  • Explore AI and emerging technologies in the design process and in product experiences.
  • Refine interactions in Figma and review implementations with Engineering.
