Requirements

  • Have 7+ years of experience in cost, inventory, or manufacturing accounting.

  • Bring hands-on ownership of landed cost, inventory valuation, and inventory close, ideally with outsourced manufacturing and third-party-held inventory.
  • Bring hands-on ownership of accounts payable operations, including vendor master controls, three-way match, payment runs, and AP close.
  • Have experience supporting external audit testing of inventory valuation and reserves under US GAAP and explaining how you defended an accounting position.
  • Be comfortable owning ambiguous, cross-system reconciliations and using advanced Excel.
  • Be able to present conclusions to Finance leadership and hold them under questioning.
  • Have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA, CMA, or equivalent is preferred.
  • NetSuite, customs and import exposure, 3PL or e-commerce operations, AP automation platforms, SOX, and process-building experience are nice to have.

Responsibilities

  • Set costing methodology, including standard costs, cost rolls, purchase price and landed cost variance, and related policy.
  • Accrue duty, tariffs, freight, and brokerage at receipt; true up costs using broker invoices and allocate them between inventory and cost of sales.
  • Own inventory valuation under US GAAP, including the excess and obsolete reserve and its supporting methodology.
  • Maintain inventory integrity across contract manufacturer, 3PL, and marketplace locations through reconciliations, cycle counts, cutoff, and audit confirmations or observations.
  • Run procure-to-pay processes, including PO policy, vendor master governance, three-way match, received-not-invoiced, payment runs, disbursement controls, and AP close.
  • Close COGS and analyze gross margin across hardware and subscription revenue in partnership with FP&A.
  • Design audit and control processes for inventory, cost, and procure-to-pay cycles to address SOX and external audit scrutiny.
