Requirements
- Hold a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Have 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory or management role.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of US GAAP and hands-on experience applying ASC 606 to real transactions.
- Have direct experience supporting external financial statement audits, including PBC preparation, workpapers, and auditor communication.
- Have experience with month-end close processes and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Have hands-on experience with an ERP or accounting platform such as NetSuite, QuickBooks Online, Xero, or Sage Intacct.
- Have advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills.
- Have experience with multi-entity consolidation and reconciling high-volume transaction data.
- CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Public accounting or audit background, including Big 4 or mid-tier firm experience, is preferred.
- Experience drafting technical accounting memos and evaluating complex revenue arrangements is preferred.
- Experience in fintech, trading, payments, e-commerce, or another high-volume digital business is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close and ensure accurate, timely financial statements.
- Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and bank and payment processor reconciliations.
- Manage multi-entity and multi-currency accounting, including intercompany transactions.
- Apply ASC 606 to transactional revenue, including refunds, discounts, and other variable consideration.
- Prepare technical accounting memos and revenue policy documentation, and maintain deferred revenue schedules.
- Oversee accounting for trader payouts, including accruals, liabilities, and reconciliations.
- Serve as the primary liaison to external auditors and manage audit planning, PBC requests, workpapers, and timelines.
- Help design, document, and test internal controls over financial reporting and coordinate tax and regulatory compliance work.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting with variance analysis, and improve accounting workflows and systems.
- Hire, coach, and develop accounting team members.
