Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA certification is preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including commercial accounting in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or life sciences.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including ASC 606 revenue recognition, gross-to-net accounting, inventory, and cost of goods sold.
  • Understanding of pharmaceutical order-to-cash processes, including accounts receivable, deductions, and customer reconciliations.
  • Experience supporting inventory accounting in a commercial-stage biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or life sciences organization.
  • Experience working with third-party logistics providers, wholesalers, and other commercial service providers.
  • Experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Experience with NetSuite or another large ERP system.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience supporting SOX compliance and internal controls is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%, including occasional travel outside the local area and overnight stays.

Responsibilities

  • Manage monthly close activities for product revenue, gross-to-net reserves, accounts receivable, inventory, and cost of goods sold.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, schedules, and revenue accounting documentation.
  • Oversee inventory valuation, reserves, reconciliations, movements, and third-party provider information.
  • Prepare gross-to-net reserve calculations and analyze actual results against estimates.
  • Oversee third-party-managed order-to-cash activities, including invoicing, collections, cash applications, deductions, and disputes.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and commercial providers on product launches, commercialization initiatives, and accounting implications of contracts.
  • Prepare financial reporting schedules and support audits, regulatory reporting, SOX compliance, and control remediation.
  • Improve revenue accounting processes, controls, automation, reporting, and data analytics; participate in ERP projects.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop team members.
