Requirements
- Bring 5+ years of experience in software or data engineering.
- Have experience developing in Java and/or Python; experience in other programming languages is also welcomed.
- Design, build, and scale batch and streaming/event-driven data pipelines using technologies such as Apache Spark or distributed query engines.
- Have hands-on experience implementing data lake solutions using formats such as Iceberg or Delta Lake.
- Ensure data reliability, schema integrity, and integration with distributed query engines.
- Demonstrate experience making technical trade-offs and navigating technical complexities.
- Have experience mentoring other engineers.
- Identify root causes of production issues and recommend or implement improvements.
- Work productively on cross-functional teams.
- Experience with payments or fintech is a nice-to-have.
- Experience with microservices, Java Spring Boot, or Airflow is a nice-to-have.
- Experience with cloud tools, software delivery pipelines, CI/CD, and deployment or orchestration systems such as Kubernetes or Docker is a nice-to-have.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver scalable software for batch and event-driven processing of card network settlement and transaction data.
- Develop, manage, and maintain card network transactions at scale.
- Architect, design, and develop large, complex projects.
- Collaborate with engineers to prioritize and ship features.
- Partner with Product Managers to scope and estimate new work.
- Identify solutions to ambiguous, open-ended problems and deliver projects toward quarterly team goals.
- Participate in on-call coverage.
- Provide guidance on operationalizing services and cloud infrastructure for scaling, resilience, and availability when focused on DevOps and infrastructure engineering.
