Requirements
- Have at least 2 years’ experience in commercial finance, commercial accounting or financial analysis.
- Bring strong financial modelling and analytical skills to assess commercial opportunities and profitability.
- Be able to use financial insight to support and influence business decisions.
- Have experience with month-end reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
- Have advanced Excel and Power BI skills.
- Be confident challenging assumptions and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Be able to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-finance audiences.
- Be organised, proactive and attentive to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Hold a full UK driving licence and be flexible to travel to Biffa sites, including occasional overnight stays.
- ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualification is desirable but not essential.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Corporate and Major New Business Sales teams throughout sales and tender processes.
- Provide commercial finance insight, challenge and advice to support profitable decision-making.
- Prepare month-end reporting, budgets and forecasts, and identify key drivers, risks and opportunities.
- Analyse sales and commercial performance, including win/loss trends and drivers.
- Lead the calculation and governance of sales incentive schemes and bonus reporting.
- Build relationships across Finance, Sales and Operations.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, automation and the use of Power BI, SharePoint and Excel.
