Requirements
- Have 2+ years combined of related education, experience, or certification.
- Graduate from a medical assistant program, such as a CAAHEP- or ABHES-accredited program, or another formal medical assistant program.
- Maintain current BLS or CPR certification.
- Have reliable transportation and an active driver’s license to travel across an assigned region to offices, clinics, and patient homes.
- Meet the stated internet connectivity minimums: 3.8 Mbps download and 3.0 Mbps upload, with latency under 60 ms.
- Have communication and customer service skills.
- Be able to prioritize, multitask, and problem-solve.
- Preferred: hold Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification.
- Preferred: have experience working on multidisciplinary teams.
- Preferred: have basic computer and keyboarding skills and intermediate proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Responsibilities
- Measure, collect, and record vital signs and perform phlebotomy.
- Answer telephone calls, retrieve external medical records, complete patient intakes, and schedule appointments.
- Enter medications, labs, patient demographics and history, screening data, care documentation, and pharmacy information in patient medical records.
- Ensure patient consent is in place and obtain consent when needed.
- Support Nurse Practitioners with visits and follow-up tasks, including patient outreach, educational materials, and DME.
- Conduct patient visits in patient homes, clinics, partner physician spaces, and via telehealth or virtual visits.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to support holistic patient care.
- Provide in-person patient care involving standing, sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
