Requirements
- Have 5+ years of experience working for a Managed Service Provider (MSP).
- Have significant experience leading multiple concurrent IT infrastructure projects across different client environments.
- Bring hands-on Windows Server administration experience, including server deployment and configuration.
- Have Active Directory and Group Policy experience, including domain controller deployment and domain administration.
- Have Microsoft Azure administration experience.
- Have networking experience with routers, switches, VLANs, and firewalls, including configuring and deploying firewalls.
- Have experience with Hyper-V and/or VMware ESXi.
- Have experience with Microsoft 365 environments and migrations.
- Be able to turn an approved scope of work into an organized, executable project plan.
- Understand project scheduling, resource coordination, risk management, change control, testing, documentation, and operational handoff.
- Be able to coordinate technical resources without necessarily having direct supervisory authority.
- Have strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to make sound technical decisions during implementation.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, and time-management skills, and be able to work independently with minimal oversight.
- Be willing and able to travel to Southern California / Los Angeles County for initial training and approximately 1-2 times per year thereafter.
Responsibilities
- Own assigned IT projects from approved scope through planning, implementation, testing, documentation, and final handoff.
- Translate scopes of work into project plans with tasks, owners, dependencies, milestones, estimated effort, and completion criteria.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects across different client environments.
- Lead infrastructure projects involving servers, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure, virtualization, networks, firewalls, workstations, and disaster recovery.
- Coordinate technicians, engineers, vendors, client contacts, and internal stakeholders.
- Lead project kickoffs, technical working sessions, status meetings, and completion reviews.
- Track scope, schedules, budgeted effort, dependencies, risks, and resource requirements; identify and escalate blockers.
- Validate technical prerequisites and perform hands-on implementation and troubleshooting when necessary.
- Conduct structured testing and quality assurance, maintain project and technical documentation, and ensure clean handoff to support teams.
- Participate in post-project reviews and improve project delivery processes.
